Apprenticeship: Level 3 Business Administration

Host Contractor: ISG

Home Borough: Camden

Background:

Amie came into contact with K10 through a Lone Parents scheme set up by Camden Council shortly after she gave birth to her first child. Before falling pregnant, Amie completed her NVQ in Hairdressing, but had a strong desire for a career change.

Amie began her apprenticeship journey with Lang O’Rourke on the Francis Crick Institute development in Kings Cross and gained a Level 2 Business Administration qualification. After completing her first apprenticeship Amie then moved onto a level 3 in Business Adminstration, once the Crick Project came to an end K10 moved Amie to ISG on thier Bartrums project in Hampstead.

She had been working in the Hairdressing sector for around 6 years, so Business Administration was a massive change for her. Despite working for two sites, Amie said “Both sites have been very helpful, and have also been flexible in regards to my maternity, they assited me with my qualification and made sure that the work I carry out is relevant to my qualifications.”

Senior Surveyor, Simon Wilson had this to say about Amie “Since joining, Amie has become a key member of the site team and an absolute pleasure to work with”.

Amie had been studying her qualification with InTraining, and mentioned that her assessor, Shivali, had been extremely supportive of her. She visited Amie on site all the time and made sure she was completing the correct work to complete her qualification.

“K10 helped me back into work and helped me become qualified, so they have been very helpful overall.”
