Camilo approached us a little over a year ago after doing some on-line research for construction apprenticeships. Â We received Camilo’s CV on the 18th September 2013 and he was on-site with PGM by Monday 30th September and he really has never looked back since. Camilo has now moved permanently to PGM as a qualified Carpenter and below he shares his K10 story.
“I have always been quite focussed and knew that I wanted to get into Carpentry and potentially Site Management one day so I researched apprenticeships and approached K10. I couldn’t believe how quickly they contacted me, got me in for interview and out on site. From day one, PGM have been really supportive and my confidence just grew as I became more familiar with the new environment. You develop new skills and learn all the time so it just makes you feel more confident and capable. There are so many different kinds of people with different backgrounds on site and just interacting with them regularly helps you too”
“I’ve now been taken on full-time and immediately my pay has more than tripled. That’s great but I’m ambitious and want to push for more wages soon. I may even look to do my Level 3 qualification one day to further grow my experience. I feel really happy with my progression but also know this is just the start of a long road”
Well done Camilo from all at K10, Acton College and of course PGM.
