In London, more than 100,000 16-24 year olds are currently unemployed. Yet over the past 20 years the number of construction apprentices has declined, making it more difficult for young people to develop the skills needed for a career in the industry. K10 identifies and places young people in apprenticeships across London in the construction industry. With the skills and qualifications that come with an apprenticeship, the young people are building a solid foundation for a rewarding career in construction.
Here some of the K10 apprentices share their experiences and insights.
A huge thanks to David Dinnage of The Big Society Capital for putting this film together and indeed for helping us spread the word on the good work we are doing when it comes to converting potential and positively impacting communities across London.
