WoW! What an achievement. All of the commitment, passion and training (and resistance of Friday night beers after work) has paid off. K10’s Seb Balcombe is officially an IRONMAN after successfully completing Ironman, France in Nice last weekend.
Athletes began with a beach start and embarked on a two-loop, 2.4-mile swim in the pristine waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The 112 mile bike course is known as the jewel of Ironman France as it follows much of the original Nice Triathlon route, passing through villages and mountains. There were 5,000 feet of challenging climbs, but athletes enjoyed beautiful panoramic views to keep up the momentum. The 26.2 mile run included a flat and fast four-loop course along the Promenade des Anglais.
SEB’S RACE SUMMARY:
Swim (2.4 miles) – 1:05:47
Bike (112 miles) – 6:37:35
Run (26.2 miles) – 4:09:30
Overall – 12:16:04
