It’s International Women’s Day!

K10 have many hardworking women on site, and we feel International Women’s Day is a great way to focus on Women’s rights. Below are two of our current apprentices, who are doing a great job!

Borough: Brent

Latisha is currently working for Wates as a trainee Quantity Surveyor, and studying Level 3 Quantity Surveying. Before joining K10, she was working in Childcare, but wanted a change of direction in her career. Latisha began applying for jobs, and Brent Council eventually referred her over to K10.  She began her career in construction as an Administrator and completed her Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship, followed by Quantity Surveying. Latisha has this to say about her time with K10:

“I enjoyed admin and moving onto Surveying was very different experience but I really enjoyed the challenge! My experience with K10 in general has been great. Jack has been amazing and acts on any issues I have extremely quickly. The whole team have been very supportive and make it very easy for me to progress.”

Abbie SmithA woman wearing a white hard hat, clear safety glasses, and an orange high-visibility jacket takes a selfie at a K-10 construction site. Wooden beams and construction materials are visible in the background.

Borough: Lewisham

Abbie is currently studying Level 3 Business Management and working as a Trainee Business Administrator for Sisk on their Deptford Foundry site. Before K10, she worked in the accounts department for another electrical company, which sparked her interest (pun intended!) for working in the Construction field.  She eventually applied to K10 and the rest is history!  In regard to her experience with K10, Abbie said:

“In my role, I learn different ways of doing things every day. Every day is different. Jack has been extremely helpful, and always answers any questions I have. I have gained a lot of confidence with K10, and I’m really enjoying my apprenticeship.”
