This Tuesday we would like to revisit one of our recently completed Quantity Surveying Apprentices – Sharna Olamuyiwa.
Sharna joined K10 prior to the pandemic where her placement with McLaren was cut short due to Covid. Towards the end of 2020, Sharna joined Macai Projects to support their Camden Town Hall and KGX1 projects in Camden. Sharna utilised what she had been taught previously and with her new team flourished in her role where her responsibilities and confidence increased greatly.
“Sharna’s whole performance during her apprenticeship was exemplary, and she achieved her goals including the RICS associate qualification.
Sharna is currently assisting me with the surveying at the new Google Building (KGX1), at Kings Cross. In truth she is surveying this £2M project herself, and only approaching Management for guidance and approval of the final documents. She attends regular meetings with our client, and we only ever receive positive feedback.
She has now shown a great interest in the project management side of site work, and attends the daily briefings with her site manager to enhance her knowledge.” – Alan Dowsing (Managing Director, Macai Projects)
Sharna is now a RICS Qualified Quantity Surveyor through Westminster Kingsway College and is already looking towards her future.
“My time on the apprenticeship scheme has been great and has prepared me for my current role and future career. I’ve been supported to fulfil my ambitions and I would like to thank everyone for all of their support. I’d recommend an apprenticeship to anyone who is looking to gain more skills and qualifications as an alternative route to university as you absorb so much crucial knowledge and information in the workplace.”
